How It Started
My fascination with human connection did not begin in a boardroom. It was forged from the ground up.
I relocated from Japan to France at the age of thirteen without speaking a word of the language.
This forced me to master high-level communication through pure, independent immersion. It taught me early on that Emotional Intelligence is not simply a natural trait, it is an essential, learnable survival skill.
Building The Foundation
Before founding Zest Flow, I spent years as an HR practitioner and entrepreneur, co-founding and scaling a property management company across Ireland and Hong Kong, where I became an accidental manager myself. I made all the mistakes in the book before I was forced to reassess my leadership skills and values.
I later re-entered the corporate world, qualifying formally in Human Resources and contributing to the migration of an entire People Services department for a multinational bank in London. But the foundation for all of it was built earlier: over a decade as a teacher and executive corporate trainer in France and Belgium, commanding a room and mastering dynamic facilitation long before I called myself a leader.
The Recurring Problem
In every company, every county and every sector, the same issue exists: The Promotion Paradox.
Skilled technical experts, promoted and never equipped with the soft skills to manage people; leading to unmotivated and unproductive teams, along with high turnover.
Zest Flow exists to bridge that gap and turn accidental managers into confident role models. Our leadership training in Dublin does exactly that.
